Position Overview
Senior Electronic Design Engineer (Communications & Sensor Systems) in Boeing Integrated Advanced Systems (IAS) – Phantom Works, Berkeley, Missouri. Responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced mission systems, including Software Defined Radio (SDR), sensor, and electronic warfare platforms.
Responsibilities- Develop and validate requirements for complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and electromagnetic systems and components.
- Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structures.
- Design architectures to integrate complex systems into higher‑level platforms.
- Conduct trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict component, interconnect, and system performance.
- Define and conduct critical tests to validate design performance against requirements.
- Manage supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Provide life‑cycle support, including manufacturing guidance and post‑deployment issue resolution.
- Coordinate project management activities such as work statements, budgets, schedules, and reviews.
- Generate proposal sections to support new business development.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, or related field.
- 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7+ years with a Master’s; or 3+ years with a PhD.
- Programming experience in C/C++, Python, or C#.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other containerization technologies.
- Experience with message patterns or transport technologies (e.g., ZMQ, Apache MQ).
- Experience with embedded system development.
- Experience working with Radar or EW systems.
- Experience with RF hardware/subsystems.
- Experience with Open Architectures, especially Big Iron.
- Experience developing on Linux environments.
- Position requires 100% onsite attendance in Berkeley, Missouri.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required); clearance must be active within the last 24 months.
- Up to 10% travel may be required.
