OverviewMust be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and US Citizenship is required. The Company Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support fabrication planning, setup, and installation for aircraft systems. The role includes design review, manufacturing plan authorship, and fabrication sourcing both internally and externally. The engineer will work closely with the shop team, tooling, and aircraft mechanics, and will support installation on aircraft or in the laboratory during setup.
Projects include T-7A Redhawk, MQ-25A Stingray, Phantom Works programs, Company Weapons programs, and legacy programs such as F-15 and F-A-18.
The team is hiring across experience levels from Associate to Senior Manufacturing Engineers. The position is 100% onsite.
Position Responsibilities- Synthesizing test hardware and instrumentation requirements for machine shop fabrication, laboratory, and flight test.
- Reviewing design models and drawings.
- Creating and reviewing redlines and coordinating with design to incorporate updates.
- Authoring manufacturing plans to facilitate builds.
- Creating work statements for fabrication and assembly sourcing as needed.
- Coordinating and liaising with fabrication teams.
- Sourcing parts from production and procuring parts or materials to support test.
- Coordinating with supplier management.
- Providing shipside support at the aircraft for test hardware and instrumentation installation.
- Supporting manufacturing engineering tasks across different company sites when required.
- Collaborating closely with test engineers, instrumentation engineers, program engineers, customers, fabrication technicians and support personnel, and electrical and mechanical designers across BT&E and program teams.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a non-U.S. equivalent directly related to the work statement.
- At least 2 years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience working with manufacturing planning tools.
- At least 2 years of experience with a CAD package such as CATIA or Siemens NX.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 3 or more years of experience specific to Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience working with MESci.
- Experience with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) or Flight Configuration Changes (FC) and related change requests.
- Experience creating, reviewing, and coordinating redlines with design teams.
- Familiarity with flight test worksheets or authority to manage them.
- Knowledge of procurement systems such as eParts.
- Knowledge of electrical (wire shop) fabrication capabilities and processes.
- Experience supporting product testing in flight or laboratory environments.
- Proficiency with CATIA/ENOVIA/NX/Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of machine shop fabrication capabilities, including conventional and CNC machining, EDM, fit/finish tools, and QA inspection.
- Knowledge of rapid prototyping processes and tools.
- Familiarity with stress analysis or structural analysis.
Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and at least five years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination. ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
Position duration: 6+ months with possible extension and potential FTE opportunity.
