This role is part of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security Mission Systems Team. The Lead Engineer will manage a hardware engineering team to develop, qualify and transition mission systems hardware, including mission computing, communications, navigation, surveillance, datalink and displays.

• Serves as Technical Lead Engineer for the hardware team.
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
• Leads investigations of technical issues and follows through with root cause analyses.
• Provides guidance on testing and validation to assure operational and functional requirements are met.
• Manages performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with tiered requirements.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Assigns responsibilities for activities to team members and ensures technical correctness and consistency of products and services.
• Leads research into technology advances for potential application to T‑7A derivatives.
• Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders and peers.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
• Level 5: 14+ years of work‑related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years with a master’s degree.
• 14+ years of Avionics Hardware design, production and project management experience.
• 14+ years of process development, qualification, physical and functional integration and installation design and supplier technical issue resolution.

• 14+ years of systems engineering experience including requirements, functional decomposition, integrated design, analysis, evaluation and verification.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
• Experience with advanced cockpit displays: HUD, UFCD, LAD and mission systems avionics equipment.
• Experience with commercial and military avionics systems.
• Experience working with suppliers and supply chain management.
• Proposal development experience.

May require 10–20% travel. Expected to be 100% on‑site at the Berkeley, MO location.

Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance post‑start is required.

Relocation may be offered based on candidate eligibility.
