Position Overview

Chief Aerospace Safety Office’s (CASO) Boeing Global Services (BGS) Safety Team is seeking a System Safety Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead our BGS-G Safety Engineering Team, focused on providing system safety engineering capability for the BGS Government portfolio. The position will be based in either Berkeley (St Louis), MO or Hazelwood, MO
.

As a member of the BGS-G safety team, you will maintain operational excellence and product safety for defense platforms such as F/A‑18, F‑15, F‑22, C‑17, AH‑64, CH‑47, KC‑135, KC‑46, and related services. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and leaders to develop and implement safety strategies that uphold the highest safety standards and contribute to a safer future in the aviation industry.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in Systems Engineering.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Acquire resources for projects, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct report personnel.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees.
Work Authorization

This position requires 100% onsite work at Berkley, MO, Hazelwood, MO, or St Louis, MO. Some travel may be required as business needs dictate.

Basic Qualifications
  • At least one year of leadership experience (team lead, temporary manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management) or completion of Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • Experience performing system safety tasks in accordance with MIL‑STD‑882, SAE ARP
    4761, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing systems engineering activities across the full system engineering lifecycle.
  • Aircraft certification experience.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional engineering teams in an aerospace environment.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and provide clear written and verbal presentation of results.
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience with commercial airplanes or derivatives.

Pay & Benefits

Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Total Rewards includes health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid leave. Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $141,100 - $190,900
