Vehicle Management System (VMS) Hardware Engineer (Experienced)

The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Flight Systems Engineering Capability is currently seeking an Experienced Vehicle Management Systems Hardware Engineer to join the Air Dominance Vehicle Management System (VMS), Hardware team located in Berkeley, MO.
- Lead requirements decomposition and traceability from customer need to testable design
- Develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements according to contract requirements and customer feedback
- Design hardware and interface specifications
- Understand and apply job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
- Develop statement-of-work and technical performance specifications
- Analyze, translate, and implement customer requirements into system architecture, hardware design and interface specifications, showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle
- Defines test and validation approach to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Troubleshoot integration and sustainment anomalies across hardware/software life cycles
- Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements and for potential application to internal business strategies
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integrity and compliance with requirements
- Coordinate suppliers, test labs, and cross-discipline engineering to deliver on schedule and cost
- Solve problems concerning fielded hardware over the entire product lifecycle
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- Level 3 (Experienced): 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's or 3+ years of work-related experience with a Masters or PhD
- Prior experience with Vehicle Management Systems
- Prior experience with Supplier Management
- Active Secret Clearance or higher MSOSA/MBSE knowledge Conflict of Interest:
Successful candidates for this job must satisfy Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim Secret Clearance Pre-Start and Final Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Education:
Level 3 (Experienced) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
