Position Overview

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Dev Sec Ops  Engineer to support our Air Proprietary 2 Mission Systems team in Berkeley, Missouri. The role focuses on establishing, configuring, and maintaining the Mission Systems (MS) software development environments across multiple security levels and serves as the primary Dev Sec Ops  point of contact, coordinating closely with the Digital Engineering Environment team.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and management of the software development environment roadmap and vision.
  • Lead the deployment and configuration of technologies and tools used in software development, including build servers, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Establish, configure, and maintain MS software development environments across multiple networks, including any tools required for developing, building, and releasing software.
  • Manage and maintain cloud-based and on‑premises infrastructures.
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation to simplify infrastructure administration and software deployment.
  • Establish and maintain development and production environments.
  • Ensure compliance and policy enforcement for applicable design practices and industry standards.
  • Develop best practices and methodologies for provisioning, platform scaling, configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer and maintain software development tools, perform version upgrades, patch management, and integration between tools (Jira, Git Lab, Artifactory, Confluence, Sonar Qube, etc).
  • Mentor and advise junior teammates and development teams on best practices in Dev Sec Ops , providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Coordinate across the Mission Systems solution team, the Digital Engineering Environment team, and the Boeing Software Factory Enterprise team.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 7+ years of experience with C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
  • 6+ years of experience in software architecture, focusing on cloud‑based solutions and Dev Ops practices.
  • 5+ years of experience in automated provisioning and configuring software‑defined infrastructure for continuous deployment and continuous operations.
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Git Lab, Jenkins) and practices, automation frameworks, and IaC.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 7+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and Agile software development processes.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in Dev Sec Ops  and cybersecurity policies and regulations, with ability to formulate solutions across these areas.
  • Experience with secure software development environments at various levels of security.
  • Proficient in Linux.
  • Ability to obtain Security+ certification.

Pay & Benefits

A Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Eligible employees have access to health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time away from work. The pay range for Senior Level (Level4) is $136,850 – $185,150.
