Immediate need for a Mid-Level Network Designer focusing on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) business organization.
Responsibilities- Lead and perform the identification, analysis, and documentation of requirements for network LAN technologies and services (e.g., wireless, data, voice, video, cable, wire) based on customer goals, objectives, cost and security constraints, to lead the design process.
- Work collaboratively with other stakeholders (Transport, Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN), Structured Cabling, Project Manager, etc.) in focused, agile-inspired sprint teams.
- Provide oversight and consultation of work intake processes, backlog and execution of requests, coordinating with IT Business Partners, and Product Owners.
- Create and document designs that conform to architectural and security standards to meet customer requirements, using design templates and standard implementation packages.
- Prepare, deploy, and coordinate installation of complex implementation packages per Boeing standards.
- Provide Level 3 Incident/Problem Management support in preventative, proactive and reactive maintenance to meet service restoration and network availability objectives, using network analysis and monitoring tools.
- Support and participate in component research to provide input for more comprehensive evaluation.
- Lead and perform implementation planning for tactical multi-technology insertion projects, using established project management methodologies for the purpose of controlling costs and ensuring adherence to project plan.
- Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving.
- 3+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations.
- 3+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
- 3+ years of experience utilizing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network protocols.
- Ability to support after-hours change windows and implementations.
- Active DOD TOP Secret Security Clearance.
- Willingness to cover on-call shifts, including weekends and after hours.
- Associate's or higher level degree.
- 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations.
- 5+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
- 5+ years of experience utilizing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network protocols.
- Experience with Encryption Devices (HAIPE).
- Current CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification.
- Experience with COMSEC.
- Experience with Arista networking.
- Experience with Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Cisco ISE.
- Experience with Zero Trust.
- Experience with MFA.
- Experience with Comply to Connect.
- Experience with NTP.
- Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems and Panorama.
- Experience with IPSEC and GRE tunnel configurations.
- Experience with Splunk.
- Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
Mid-Range - $101,700 - $120,000
