The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join the Fighters Vehicle Simulation organization in Berkeley, MO. This team delivers high‑fidelity training simulations for the United States Air Force, supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business, specifically the F‑15 USAF training system software team.

This role leads a team of software engineers developing flight‑simulation software that accurately models aircraft, subsystems, and operational environments. The team works with multiple programming languages, including C++, Fortran, Ada, C#, and Python, primarily targeting Linux and Windows platforms. Development follows Agile methodologies. The manager builds and mentors a diverse engineering team to deliver high‑integrity software critical to customer training.

• Manages employees performing software engineering and technical activities related to the program lifecycle software design, development, integration, maintenance, and delivery.
• Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
• Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
• Manages, develops and motivates employees.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship.
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) or completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• Secret Security Clearance.
• 3+ years of experience assisting in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware, and software.
• Experience with software/hardware testing.
• Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management).

The total rewards package includes competitive base pay, variable compensation, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. Pay range is $160,650‑$217,350, with potential signing bonus for eligible external candidates.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance and will be located 100% onsite in Berkeley, MO. The role is not contingent upon program award and is not a safety‑sensitive position.
