Manufacturing Operations Analyst – Paint Operations Workplace Coach

Position within Air Dominance.
As a member of this team, you will continuously develop and manage the structure to enable the pace and performance of the Skill Enhancement team. You will maintain positive relationships with multi‑function team leaders and drive a deep understanding of the One Boeing Production System principles and standards, production health, and problem solving.
Position Responsibilities- Act as the on‑floor paint SME providing just‑in‑time coaching and hands‑on demonstrations to improve workmanship and first‑time quality.
- Support rapid upskilling for off product or surge needs and validate competence during onboarding and transfers.
- Observe and validate surface preparation, masking, pretreatment, primer/coating application, cure, and final inspection; provide immediate corrective coaching.
- Coach technicians on the use and calibration of paint test equipment (DFT meters, gloss meters, adhesion tests) and environmental controls (temperature, humidity, ventilation).
- Mentor on contamination control, defect root‑cause identification (fisheyes, runs, orange peel, adhesion issues), and practical corrective actions.
- 5+ years of experience painting aircraft or aircraft parts.
- 5+ years of experience prepping, cleaning, and painting various surfaces in industrial, commercial, or academic settings.
- 5+ years of experience with paints/coatings.
- 5+ years of experience with paint and thin‑film coatings and associated application methods in at least 3 of the following: spray, brush, wipe‑on/off, flow coating, spin coating, and/or vacuum deposition.
- 5+ years of experience applying paints/coatings to parts, assemblies, and/or test coupon surfaces.
- 5+ years of experience handling chemicals and/or hazardous materials.
- Experience coaching in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop, mentor, and coach less experienced staff.
- Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership.
