Job OverviewThe Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule, managing MRP activities, and supporting the administration of production operations to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing metrics, and hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on customer demand, sales forecasts, and production capacity.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to maintain optimal efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement and Production to align supply with demand.
- Monitor capacity and resource constraints and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery targets.
- Manage and maintain systems to ensure accurate material requirements based on production plan.
- Review MRP outputs and generate work orders, purchase requisitions, and inventory adjustments.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Shipping/Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available on time and in the correct quantities.
- Monitor inventory levels to support lean manufacturing principles and minimize excess/obsolete stock.
- Create and release work orders and production documentation to the shop floor.
- Track and report production progress, identifying delays or bottlenecks.
- Maintain production records, analyze KPIs, and provide regular reports as needed to leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of a manufacturing production environment, preferably aerosols.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and capacity planning.
- Must accurately read formula sheets.
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions and work independently to perform a given task.
- Strong ability to work independently while receiving verbal instruction and following written directions from the Standard Operating Procedures/Work Instruction with or without visual aids.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to perform professionally and efficiently with other departments and staff.
