KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead QA team to ensure inspections are completed and customer quality requirements are consistently met, driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct and supervise receiving, in-process, and final inspections to guarantee product integrity.
  • Maintain and update Quality System documentation (policies, procedures, work instructions, forms) to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
  • Review and approve master work orders, heat-treat records, and purchase orders for parts and tools.
  • Prepare first-article and master production inspection reports using customer POs, engineering drawings, specifications, and reference tools.
  • Draft internal and external nonconformance reports detailing discrepancies, corrective actions, and dispositions.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to evaluate and approve suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality requirements.
  • Train and guide inspectors to resolve quality issues, fostering professional growth and team development.
  • Work with Engineering, supervisors, and operators to address quality issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Oversee customer and third-party audits, maintaining certification and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve quality concerns, exceed expectations, and ensure satisfaction.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, design standards, specifications, and quality documents.
  • Extensive knowledge of aerospace sheet metal manufacturing operations, methods, processes and AS9100 standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to interpret customer requirements and ensure satisfaction.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a proven track record of resolving complex quality issues.
  • Skilled in selecting and implementing effective inspection methods.
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to collaborate across departments, mentoring team members and driving performance.
