Position Overview

Senior Nondestructive Test (NDT) Technician – PT/MT in St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will conduct Non-Destructive Testing on aerospace products using liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, eddy current, and/or radiographic methods. You will work with digital and automated inspection systems aligned with industry standards.

Employees will be required to obtain Boeing NDT certification and pass a vision exam. Failure to achieve or maintain certification requirements may lead to termination of employment.

Work Environment
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (not over OSHA permissible exposure levels).
  • This position requires the applicant to work in a radiation environment; candidates must demonstrate strong understanding of relevant safety and health regulations.
  • Safety training and equipment are provided by Boeing.
  • Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) applicable to the testing method being used.
  • Able and willing to stand 90% of the time, stoop, bend, stretch, and engage in awkward positioning.
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Position Responsibilities
  • Guide the development, implementation, or improvement of non-destructive inspection techniques.
  • Develop, deploy, and implement tests or inspections and data collection techniques utilizing evolving technology.
  • Develop program-specific non-destructive testing documents.
  • Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual specifications that control the method used.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures for new or revised non-destructive testing methods.
  • Audit, validate, and approve systems and techniques of suppliers and processors.
  • Develop certification training and examinations.
  • Develop innovative test processes and equipment.
  • Consult suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues involving tests, processes, and equipment.
  • Develop principles and methods for analyzing test, inspection or statistical data.
  • Consult on corrective action to resolve process or product anomalies.
  • Participate on enterprise and industry teams to influence standardization and regulation of training and certification requirements.
  • Conduct certification preparation training, providing guidance and/or supervision to Trainees, Level I and II NDT Certified personnel.
  • Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products.
  • Communicate both written and verbal effectively.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal, documented hours of NDT training/experience or military equivalent.
  • Level III NDT certification in PT/MT.
  • More than 5 years of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering technical information.
  • More than 5 years of experience interpreting/developing policies, practices, processes, and procedures as they apply to technical documentation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office:
    Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than 5 years of experience conducting NDT certification preparation training, providing guidance and/or supervision to Trainees, Level I and II NDT Certified personnel.
  • Skills and knowledge to audit NDT facilities for compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Technical/Vocational education in a related field.
