Mission Software Engineer (Mid Level or Senior)

The Boeing Company invites applications for a Mission Software Engineer (Mid Level or Senior) to join the Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) Solutions team at Berkeley, Missouri, supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. The role focuses on software design and development for Space-based effects in support of air domain missions.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout the end‑to‑end lifecycle meeting industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial design of software products.
• Lead junior engineers in software development.
• Define interfaces and perform unit and integration testing.
• Participate in peer reviews and support software system integration and test.
• Create software documentation and interface with various software programming languages.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Active Secret U.S. Security clearance.
• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience with C++.
• 1+ year of MATLAB experience.
• 1+ year of Agile Software Development lifecycle experience.

• Level 3:
  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of related work experience, or 9+ years of directly related work experience; or 13+ years of related, relevant experience.
• Level 4:
  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 9+ years of related work experience, or 13+ years of directly related work experience; or 17+ years of related, relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance (optional).
• Familiarity with physics‑based modeling software packages and knowledge of flight dynamics, sensors, electromagnetics, weapon models, terrain models, or flight control.
• Experience with Dev Sec Ops  tools (Git, Git Lab, CMake), Linux, Windows, real‑time software development, MATLAB Coder, and Java.

• Active Secret U.S. Security clearance required.
• Top Secret clearance is preferred but not required.

Approximately 10% travel required.

• Mid Level: $126,650 – $171,350
• Senior: $160,650 – $217,350
• Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
