This role seeks a hands‑on Quality Manager, Software Quality Engineering to join the Quality & Lean Organization in the St. Louis region.
LocationOn‑site positions available at Berkeley, MO or Hazelwood, MO.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and manage a team of Software Quality Engineers supporting multiple BDS programs; own hiring, performance development, and career progression.
- Translate program technical and contractual requirements into SQE priorities and deliverables; align SQE execution with program schedules and budgets.
- Define and implement SQE processes, checklists, and metrics to verify software compliance, reliability, and safety on assigned programs.
- Provide approval and oversight of technical approaches, software verification strategies, and software quality artifacts.
- Coordinate supplier SQE activities; provide technical direction and assess supplier deliverables for quality and conformance.
- Identify and drive continuous process improvements (root‑cause analysis, lessons learned, defect reduction).
- Maintain productive relationships with customers, stakeholders, program managers, and cross‑functional teams; elevate and resolve elevated SQE issues.
- At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) or completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 5+ years of experience supporting software development programs, including hands‑on experience with software verification, reviews, or testing.
- 1+ year of experience supporting software quality engineering with AS9115 and/or DO‑178 requirements.
- 1+ year of experience working with program leadership to prioritize and resolve technical quality issues.
- Active U.S. security clearance.
- Experience with safety‑critical development standards (e.g., DO‑178B/C or equivalent).
- Practical experience with Agile software development and CI/CD pipelines.
- Background in Software Quality Engineering practices (test strategy, test automation, static analysis, code reviews).
- Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops tooling and secure software development lifecycle (SAST/DAST, automated builds, artifact management).
- Experience coordinating supplier quality assurance for embedded or avionics software.
Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.

TravelThis position may require up to 10% travel.
Compensation & BenefitsPay range: USD $170,100 – $226,800 (based on experience and qualifications). Benefits include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time away from work. The specific programs available vary by location and eligibility.

Security ClearanceRequires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; a U.S. Secret Clearance post‑start is required.
