Join Boeing’s Mission Systems Software team as a Senior Software Engineer responsible for integrating various safety‑critical and mission‑critical flight software components, product security, and multiple suppliers.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain embedded software for PMPC systems that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee software verification plans, test procedures, and environments; execute tests and document results to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Track and evaluate supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
- Analyze, monitor, and improve the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems.
- Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software development and hardware technologies.
- Direct software and hardware integration activities and evaluate internal and supplier teams’ performance.
- Perform embedded software project management functions and mentor team members.
- Work under minimal direction.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (must be active within the past 24 months).
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
- 5+ years programming experience with Go, Java, C/C++, Rust or Python.
- 3+ years working knowledge or experience in software architecture and development.
- 22+ years of relevant experience, or 18+ years with Bachelor’s Degree, or 14+ years with a B.S. in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Experience in systems integration following engineering processes and procedures.
- Leadership experience managing software projects or technical teams.
- Strong verbal, written, teaming, technical, and integration skills.
- Embedded software architecture, design and development experience.
- Mission systems software experience on aircraft platforms.
- Hands‑on experience developing on Linux and Windows.
- Experience with Agile processes and related tools.
- Familiarity with safety‑critical software development practices.
- Debugging and troubleshooting skills involving memory or timing issues.
- Experience with industry tools and techniques such as Embedded System Software, C/C++, Rust, Linux, VxWorks, Containers, Git, CI/CD, Dev Sec Ops , and/or Cameo.
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required; must be active within the past 24 months.
Benefits & PayPay range: $198,050 – $267,950. Total rewards include base salary, variable compensation, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off as per eligibility.
