Pinchin is seeking a Field Technician to join our Field Services team in Berkley, MI. The role reports to the Senior Project Associate.
Field Services Overview
The Field Services department plays a critical role in helping our clients make informed decisions by conducting accurate field assessments and collecting data to support safe, sustainable, and compliant solutions. The team takes on multiple roles, tasks, and responsibilities, often simultaneously (i.e., laborer, foreman, technician, scientist), while collaborating closely with the Site Investigation Services (SIS) and Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) teams.
They support remediation systems through installation, testing, and repair work, along with other environmental sampling tasks... Through accurate data collection and practical field expertise, the department helps clients make informed decisions that enhance environmental quality and advance Pinchin's mission of creating safer, healthier communities.
Your Role and Action as a Field Technician
- Assist with remediation and vapor mitigation systems and monitoring, not limited to:
- Testing and repairing of mitigation systems, including operation, maintenance, and inspections.
- Oversight of system installation.
- Daily problem solving & constant communication with project managers, clients, and contractors.
- Operation of coring and augering equipment and use of hand and power tools; performing maintenance on equipment.
- Role requires someone who is mechanically inclined/handy.
- Other job duties, including mobilization of drilling and environmental equipment, coordination of sampling of soil, water, vapor, and other media, and surveying and mapping

- High school diploma required
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
- 0-3 years of consulting experience or relevant field experience
- Comfortable operating trucks and trailers.
- Muliti-disciplinary skills, including experience with the excavation and utility construction industry, operation and maintenance of tools and equipment, and/or mechanical, plumbing, or electrical industries.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships.
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Ability to read technical specifications, drawings, and reports
- Valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle. Work-related travel is compensated.
- Willing and able to travel to job sites.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions.
- Availability to work outside core business hours. Overtime is a requirement of the position.
- Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to pass a company physical.
