Location:

Berlin Township School District

A 10 month position with 10 days required in the summer, starting August 1, 2026.

Position Summary

The Berlin Township School District seeks a dynamic, student-centered educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal for Student Services and Curriculum (Pre K-8) for both John

F. Kennedy Elementary School (PreK-3) and Dwight

D. Eisenhower Middle School (Grades 4-8). This position combines instructional leadership with building-level administration. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with principals, teachers, students, and families to strengthen curriculum, improve instructional practices, support student achievement, monitor attendance, and assist with student discipline and school operations.

Qualifications
  • New Jersey Principal Certificate, School Administrator Certificate, or eligibility required
  • Minimum of five years successful teaching experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional coaching, data analysis, and professional learning
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards and current best practices in teaching and learning
Primary Responsibilities Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
  • Provide leadership in the implementation and evaluation of curriculum across grades PreK-8
  • Support teachers through classroom observations, walkthroughs, coaching, and feedback
  • Coordinate curriculum review and revision processes
  • Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and instructional team meetings
  • Analyze student achievement and assessment data to guide instructional decision-making
  • Assist with the implementation of intervention programs and Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
  • Coordinate district and state assessment programs
  • Support new teacher mentoring and professional growth initiatives
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the district's professional development plan
  • Coordinate the ESL Program
School Administration
  • Assist building principals with student discipline, investigations, and behavioral interventions
  • Oversee student attendance monitoring and intervention processes
  • Coordinate attendance improvement plans and communication with families
  • Support school safety, supervision, and operational procedures
  • Participate in student support team meetings and problem‑solving processes
  • Assist with supervision of student arrival, dismissal, lunch periods, extracurricular activities, and school events
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Maintain a visible presence in both schools
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Support school improvement planning and district initiatives
  • Collaborate with principals to strengthen school culture and climate
  • Promote high expectations for student achievement and staff performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Salary and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
