Process Engineer

The Process Engineer provides technical support and process leadership to ensure manufacturing assets operate at optimal performance in terms of output, material usage, energy efficiency, and product quality. This role focuses on monitoring and improving process performance through data analysis, auditing, and preventive practices to enable rapid identification of deviations and implementation of effective corrective actions. The Process Engineer drives continuous improvement using root cause analysis, experimentation and design of experiments, and performance optimization, while collaborating across functions to enhance operational effectiveness and sustain long-term results.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and process leadership to ensure manufacturing assets operate at optimal performance for output, material usage, energy efficiency, and product quality.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and performance metrics to rapidly identify deviations and emerging issues.
  • Analyze complex production data to diagnose process problems and define targeted improvement actions.
  • Conduct regular process audits and apply preventive practices to reduce variability and improve reliability.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement projects on the production floor to enhance throughput, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Use root cause analysis methodologies to investigate process issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Apply design of experiments (DOE) techniques to optimize process parameters and validate improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that make manufacturing operations better, faster, and more cost-effective.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to drive operational effectiveness and support long-term performance.
  • Leverage ERP/MRP systems such as SAP to support production planning, process control, and performance tracking.
  • Prepare and present reports, analyses, and recommendations using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Lead key projects from concept through successful completion, ensuring results are delivered on time and aligned with operational goals.
  • Make timely, data-driven decisions to resolve issues and keep production running efficiently.
  • Support and contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices across the production environment.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve manufacturing techniques, production equipment utilization, and overall process design.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science.
  • Preferably a degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production environment driving continuous improvement projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial continuous process manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience identifying and implementing process improvements in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong manufacturing engineering and process engineering background.
  • Proven experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive manufacturing techniques that improve speed, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Working experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience using design of experiments (DOE) for process improvement.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable improvements.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to lead key projects to successful completion.
  • Proven ability to make timely, sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
