Position Summary

Our client is a privately held manufacturing/ distribution organization who is looking to add a junior/ staff accountant to their team! They are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, or similar operational environment. This role will support day-to-day accounting functions, assist with month-end close activities, maintain financial accuracy, and help ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment! This role will assist with inventory, cost accounting, and operational finance, which can be taught if the candidate does not yet have that expereince!

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

+ Maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial records

+ Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as needed

+ Assist with inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliation processes

+ Analyze financial data and investigate variances

+ Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation

+ Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

+ Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and warehouse teams

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 1-2 years of accounting experience required

+ Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, inventory-based, or similar industries preferred

+ Understanding of general accounting principles

+ Exposure to inventory accounting and cost accounting concepts is a plus

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

+ Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
