Location & TravelMust be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. Up to 25% travel. Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Core Responsibilities- Drive procurement sourcing strategies, manage bid process, and negotiate purchase of materials, equipment, and services for medium to high dollar/complexity requirements.
- Support the company’s strategic direction, assist in building an organization that will execute procurement processes expertly.
- Serve as a role model, technical expert, and coach for colleagues with less experience.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams through all stages of the sourcing process: supplier evaluation, supplier negotiation, and contract implementation.
- Identify and implement best practices in procurement processes.
- Provide expertise and advice on strategic approaches to business partners and colleagues to ensure overall compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Improve capabilities of the supply base and key business processes; implement value‑added best practices in sourcing and contract management.
- Promote strategic and operational functions such as volume aggregation/standardization and supplier base optimization.
- Conduct RFPs, negotiate, and execute high‑complexity contracts; support internal business partners and suppliers on assigned procurement activities.
- Coordinate with end users and suppliers to provide high‑level oversight and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Lead complex sourcing projects effectively, utilizing novel and strategic approaches to author, negotiate, and execute agreements that mitigate risk and drive value for the company.
- Proactively seek opportunities for negotiated and cost savings through strategic negotiations and value‑added approaches.
- Establish and monitor contract and supplier performance including KPIs for medium complexity categories; review with business groups and use data to improve future performance and strategy development.
- Produce and analyze SRM scorecards; evaluate supplier agreements for supply chain sustainability contributions.
- Conduct thorough market analysis and work with Supplier Engagement Specialist to identify viable businesses for all sourcing opportunities.
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience in strategic sourcing / procurement, including purchasing, negotiating/drafting contracts, contract management, supplier development, and supplier qualification/certification.
- Experience with commodity and supplier relationship management.
- Advanced sourcing and procurement best‑practice process knowledge, purchasing knowledge, and full understanding of purchasing and inventory systems.
- Strong understanding of contract language terms and conditions.
- Solid understanding of business and financial principles.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, decision‑making, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to different organizational levels.
- Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, including ability to manage conflict and encourage collaboration.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Certifications desirable:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Six Sigma, Lean, Process or Project Management, or other certifications.
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required and travel between MA/CT/NH. Work is performed primarily in an office environment requiring standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, writing, typing, and communicating. Up to 25% travel. Repetitive hand movement, reaching, occasional standing, walking, stooping or bending. Mental aspects include analyzing, planning, organizing, evaluating, and documenting under pressure with multiple simultaneous activities and deadlines.
