We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator to join our growing commercial construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale commercial plumbing projects. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of plumbing systems, construction documents, labor analysis, and estimating software, along with the ability to work collaboratively with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents for commercial plumbing projects
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for piping, fixtures, equipment, materials, and labor
  • Prepare complete and competitive cost estimates and bid proposals
  • Solicit, review, and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors
  • Analyze labor productivity, equipment needs, and project schedules
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
  • Maintain and update pricing databases for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed
  • Coordinate project turnover with project management and field teams
  • Track bid outcomes and maintain estimating documentation and records
  • Ensure all estimates comply with project specifications, local codes, and company standards
  • Support contract negotiations, change orders, and project revisions when required
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of commercial plumbing estimating experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
  • Proficiency with estimating and construction software, including:
    • Trimble
    • FastPIPE
    • Quote Soft
    • Bluebeam
    • Microsoft Excel
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and time-management abilities
  • Knowledge of labor units, material pricing, and bid strategies
  • Experience working with general contractors and subcontractors preferred
