Overview

The Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. The role involves working both in the office and in the field on a variety of projects, including designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing system disruptions, working with transformers, engineering electrical protection and control circuits, and handling acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment, and analysis of system disturbances.

Responsibilities
  • Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility.
  • Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect operations or results of the work group and may impact major projects or department results.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Conducts engineering studies and completes non-routine projects with minimal oversight, independently managing project schedules and interfaces; applies fundamental engineering concepts and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies for increasing complexity.
  • Develops positive working relationships to coordinate work activities.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.
  • Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.
  • Familiarity with power related software is preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Experience: At least three-five years related experience is required. Engineering design experience preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Depending on the specific nature of the engineering role, position may require occasional to significant travel by car. A valid driver’s license is required.
Compensation and Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is $-$.
