Senior Engineer- Commissioning

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of plans and procedures for the testing and commissioning of highly complex transmission and distribution substation projects. You will work closely with stakeholders including Project Management, Protection & Controls Engineering, and Test to develop project test and commissioning plans, focusing on safety and eliminating issues and errors during the commissioning process. The role includes commissioning substation equipment as individual units (breakers, transformers, etc.)

and overall project commissioning, including controls, systems, relays, and metering. You may also provide technical guidance to Commissioning Engineers in the field.

• Assist in the development of standards and procedures for the successful testing and commissioning of Transmission & Distribution (HV & MV) substation projects.
• Oversee to ensure substation projects are successfully tested and commissioned in accordance with industry and Eversource standards with a high focus on safety and human performance while maintaining system reliability.
• Review, collect, and accept project test data.
• Collaborate effectively with other engineers within the Engineering organization to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Assist in the development and/or training of less experienced team members.
• Accountable for root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions related to project commissioning.
• Conduct project audits to ensure safety, human performance and compliance with standards and work methods are being met.
• May require work performed outside of normal business hours.
• Travel between CT and MA as required and be available for emergency storm assignment.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• At least five (5) years in utility distribution/transmission engineering.
• Electrical engineering knowledge focusing on substation project testing and commissioning (preferred).
• Valid CT or MA driver’s license.

• Work performed in both office and field environments.
• Travel between CT and MA for assignments.
• Available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
• May require work outside normal business hours.
