CMM Programmer
$90,000-$130,000/yr.
8AM-5PM (Monday - Friday)
About the CompanyExperienced CMM Programmer with expertise in developing, optimizing, and maintaining inspection programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) in manufacturing environments. Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and quality requirements to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance of precision components. Proficient with industry-leading metrology software and capable of supporting quality, engineering, and production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
About the RoleKey Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and validate CMM programs for first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment and other precision measuring instruments.
- Generate detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to engineering, quality, and production teams.
- Troubleshoot and optimize CMM programs to improve inspection efficiency and repeatability.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for quality-related issues.
- Develop and maintain inspection documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams during new product launches and process improvements.
- Calibrate and verify measuring equipment as required.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or other applicable quality standards.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, machining, or precision manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- CMM Programming Software: PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS, Poly Works, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience with CAD software and 3D models.
- Proficient with precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparators, and surface plates.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, machining, or precision manufacturing environments preferred.
