Role & Scope of PositionIT Budget Analysts are responsible for coordinating, analyzing, developing, preparing, inputting, and supporting operating (expense) and capital budgets, financial forecasts, and cost management activities for the Information Technology (IT) organization. Incumbents maintain and provide budget worksheets, supply reporting information, conduct budget research activities, and provide budget assistance to other individuals in the organization. They also prepare progress reports regarding the activities performed in the IT budget section.
EssentialFunctions
- Prepare, monitor and report results from budget operations.
- Input, maintain, and report on expense and capital budget activities.
- Prepare and maintain budget worksheets for IT budgets.
- Investigate and correct errors (e.g., incorrect charges) to IT Cost Control Center accounting.
- Prepare and deliver monthly budget reports, including budget variances and re‑forecasting.
- Maintain records of budgeting activities.
- Develop special purpose worksheets to fulfill requests for budget analysis.
- Develop ad hoc and/or complex reports of the budget in response to special requests.
- Investigate, recommend and implement improvements and cost saving ideas related to the budget process.
- Use technical principles, theories, concepts and techniques (e.g., run monthly standards, complete ad hoc budget analysis and reporting).
- Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Work under general supervision, following established procedures and ensuring sound technical judgment and overall adequacy.
- Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
- Working knowledge of budgeting processes and ability to work with Accounting and/or finance groups to provide budget support for IT.
- Sound budgetary organization skills, focus on managing own resources and relationships to external resources to meet specific objectives in a project‑oriented environment.
- Working understanding of related tools.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
- Zero to three years of experience.
- Must be available to work emergency storm assignments as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT as necessary.
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with your experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range is $71,650.00‑$79,610.00.
