Role Description

The Clinical Supervisor will provide individual and group counseling to women in recovery, using evidence-informed approaches tailored to substance use and trauma histories. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New Britain, CT, working closely with residents in sober housing and coordinating care with internal staff and external providers. Day-to-day responsibilities include completing intake assessments, developing and updating individualized treatment plans, documenting progress notes, and monitoring residents’ recovery goals.

The counselor will facilitate psycho educational and relapse-prevention groups, support crisis intervention when needed, and collaborate on discharge planning and community referrals. The role also involves participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, maintaining compliance with state and agency regulations, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalent credential in Connecticut (Listed below), with knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery-oriented systems of care.
  • Qualified individuals will possess an advanced degree and licensing or certifications in one of the following areas:
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW)
  • Licensed psychiatrist
  • Licensed psychologist
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP)
  • Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP)
Experience
  • Experience providing individual and group counseling, including assessment, treatment planning, and documentation in behavioral health or substance use treatment settings.
  • Strong skills in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and person-centered, culturally responsive practice with diverse populations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and families while maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in clinical documentation, case notes, and electronic health records.
