This position plays an important role in maintaining throughput, supporting quality standards, and keeping production running efficiently.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys setup work, machine troubleshooting, and working with multi-axis equipment rather than repetitive production machining.
The Work You'll Be DoingIn this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers
- Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot controllers, machines, and machining processes
- Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing specifications
- Select tooling and establish offsets, feeds, and speeds
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Verify part quality using precision measuring tools
- Make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Maintain machine cleanliness, tooling organization, and shop-floor standards
- Work independently with minimal supervision
You'll work with equipment such as:
Machines:
- 5-Axis Vertical Milling Machines
- 5-Axis Horizontal Milling Machines
- CNC Machining Centers
Machine Types:
- Multi-axis milling equipment
Inspection Tools:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Precision hand measuring tools
Materials may include:
- Production machined components
- Precision metal parts
- Manufacturing assemblies
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience
- 2+ years of 5-axis CNC milling setup and operation experience
- Experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing specifications
Experience selecting tooling, feeds, speeds, and offsets - Comfortable inspecting parts using precision measuring tools
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with 5-axis vertical mills
- Experience with 5-axis horizontal mills
Strong troubleshooting skills - Experience working in higher-mix manufacturing environments
