Fosdick Fulfillment has an immediate opening for a part time production lead in our Berlin, CT location Saturday and Sunday 7 :00 a.m.

The Production Lead is responsible for work involving the coordination and facilitation of worker efforts in the assigned area, in order to expedite the work flow and maintain the smooth operational flow.
SUPERVISION RECEIVEDA Production Lead works under the general supervision of the Production Manager or Production Supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISEDMonitors and facilitates the work activities of area workers.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinates the production flow of the various work stations and estimates manpower requirements.
- Assigns coworkers to jobs, monitors their performance, the ability to motivate employees, and responds to job related questions on a regular basis.
- Trains coworkers and demonstrates appropriate work procedures.
- Ensures safe work practices by complying with safety rules and regulations.
- Informs management of any personnel or production related problems.
- Assists coworkers in making job related decisions.
- Completes area paperwork or assists management in completing paperwork in a timely manner.
- Monitors the availability of materials and proper functioning of machinery necessary to perform the work.
- Working knowledge of shipping system (manifest)
- Assures that housekeeping practices of the area are in accordance with the company standards.
- Communicates with coworkers and assigned temporary employees in a courteous and business-like manner.
- Maintains good attendance, is punctual and available to work overtime and during the holidays when needed.
- Performs similar duties as those employees under his/her charge.
- Performs related work as required by Supervisor or Manager.
- Examines lines for bottlenecks, makes adjustments in workforce assignments and delegates new tasks to direct reports accordingly. Completes all work schedules in order as issued, consistently assists in meeting daily production goals.
- Has demonstrated ability to train employees for any production function on the line.
- People skills; ability to give and receive directions and instructions respectfully. Communicates with employees at all levels.
- Practices and ensures good safety/housekeeping habits.
- Has proven ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Complies with all company and department procedures and policies.
- Capable of performing time studies and quality audits.
- Keep work incidents confidential.
- Conducts themselves in an appropriate manner at all times regardless of circumstances.
- Requires high school diploma or the equivalent and one year related experience and/or training in production line functions, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess the ability to read, write and comprehend all necessary work transactions.
- Efficient in Microsoft Office programs
