Event Planner – Social Enterprises (Part‑Time 15‑20 hours) Contractor

Position Summary

Futures Inc. is seeking a creative and community‑minded Event Planner to support our Social Enterprise initiatives. This role focuses on planning and executing fundraising events and in‑store experiences that increase community engagement, drive retail traffic, and strengthen public awareness of Futures Inc.’s mission.

The Event Planner will collaborate with staff and community partners to create welcoming and accessible events that connect customers, supporters, and program participants. Assist with daily retail operations as needed and help strengthen community partnerships and outreach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events and themed in‑store experiences
  • Develop creative event concepts aligned with Futures Inc.’s mission and retail goals
  • Manage event logistics including vendors, invitations, décor, supplies, and schedules
  • Assist with promotional materials and marketing coordination
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and vendors
  • Collect guest feedback and assist with post‑event reporting and evaluation
  • Coordinate events designed to increase store traffic and customer engagement
Retail Support
  • Deliver warm, positive customer service as a brand ambassador
  • Assist with store opening/closing procedures and POS transactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment
  • Support donation‑based sales initiatives and mission‑focused messaging
  • Minimal lifting of office equipment or supplies routine required.
Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in retail, customer service, event planning, or community engagement
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience coordinating events or community activities preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva preferred
  • Flexible availability including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and possess the ability to meet multiple job demands in a busy environment.
  • May be required to operate agency vehicles and transport students/consumers in personal vehicle.
