Job Summary
The Senior Physical Security Specialist designs and implements security measures to protect people, property, and assets within the organization. This role oversees physical security projects, collaborates with stakeholders, ensures the successful implementation of enterprise security technology solutions, conducts physical security assessments, and provides training to security personnel.
Core Responsibilities- Own all aspects of physical security projects from start to finish, including scope, design, vendor management, commissioning, and invoicing.
- Conduct site walk‑throughs with physical security management, draft security designs and comprehensive scopes of work, procure quotes, and collaborate with vendors, project managers, general contractors, and key business partners until final commissioning.
- Work with program manager(s) to meet project milestones, provide timely updates, identify solutions, and reduce risks for successful implementation of enterprise security technology solutions.
- Maintain systems associated with physical badge credentials, access management, access control platforms, video management systems, and intruder detection, including deployment, operations, and maintenance.
- Possess expertise in installation and servicing of systems and devices such as AMAG, Genetec, Axis, Hanwha, HID, and similar intercom and turnstile manufacturers.
- Complete physical security assessments as required to maintain compliance.
- Provide training to security personnel on the use of access control, video management, and detection systems.
- Obtain and maintain system certifications to ensure up‑to‑date knowledge and expertise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings, specifications, financial reports, and other relevant documents.
- Strong knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, computer programming, site management, and installation experience.
- Proficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting electronic systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English technical language, including interpreting requirements and providing reports.

- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship‑building abilities.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including experience with drafting and editing substantial written work products.

- Analytical thinking skills to assess risks, identify internal control weaknesses, and recommend effective solutions.
- Ability to analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Effective communication of findings and recommendations regarding data gaps uncovered during the course of work.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in an area of study relevant to this position (e.g., Security Management, Homeland Security, Engineering, Information Technology).
Related Work ExperienceGenerally requires four or more years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Professional certification or accreditation validating expertise and knowledge in the field of physical security, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Physical Security Certified Professional (PSCP), or Certified Homeland Protection Professional (CHPP).
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
- Must be willing to travel regionally up to 30%.
