Industrial Mechanic - Level C Murphy Road Recycling Your Role:
- Assist in performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Help diagnose mechanical issues and perform basic repairs under the guidance of a senior mechanic.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential maintenance concerns.
- Repair and replace worn or damaged components, including bearings, belts, chains, motors, and conveyors.
- Assist with hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance and repairs.
- Perform basic welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Operate tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with facility maintenance projects and equipment installations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in emergency repairs and after‑hours maintenance activities when required. Safely and professionally installing, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining mechanical equipment throughout the facility.
- Operate other equipment, such as industrial forklifts, man lifts, skid‑steer loaders, and other mobile equipment.
- Work with team members to learn the equipment operation, assist with making repairs, and build troubleshooting skills.
- Follow OSHA and other regulations and procedures.
- Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
Skills:
- Able to identify and properly use hand and power tools.
- Be able to learn to operate shop‑powered equipment safely, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems/schematics, and relevant large machinery.
- Ability and aptitude to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
- Self‑starter who can work in a fast‑paced/ever‑changing environment both individually and alongside a team.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and a trade school diploma/certificate or an associate degree in a related field are required.
- Must have manual dexterity to use hand and power tools correctly and safely.
- Ability to work an 8-12‑hour shift.
- Ability to work overtime and occasional weekend work.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
