Maintenance Technician

Join our manufacturing operations team as a Maintenance Technician! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment used in the manufacture of paints, adhesives, and specialty chemical products. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial maintenance, preventative maintenance programs, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain mixers, pumps, conveyors, motors, agitators, filling equipment, and material handling systems.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
  • Inspect machinery and identify potential issues before failures occur.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Install, repair, and replace plant equipment and components as needed.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, plant projects, and process improvements.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with plant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work documentation.
  • Support production teams to ensure maximum equipment reliability.
  • Practice good housekeeping and maintain organized maintenance areas.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Preventive maintenance (PMs).
  • Electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • PLC troubleshooting.
  • Equipment repair and installation.
  • Manufacturing maintenance.
  • Safety compliance knowledge (LOTO/OSHA).
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician.
  • Experience with electrical systems, motors, controls, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is a chemical manufacturing facility, where employees are exposed to industrial machinery, pumps, mixers, and production equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The role involves a combination of indoor plant maintenance and production floor support, which may require lifting, climbing ladders, confined space entry, and overtime as needed.

This is a Contract position based out of Berlin, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $39.00/hr.
