IT Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced IT Software Engineer to design, develop, and validate software systems for Eversource. The role involves leading programming initiatives, collaborating with clients and cross‑functional teams, and ensuring high‑quality, innovative software that meets coding standards and technical design.

• Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods.
• Lead software programming initiatives.
• Communicate project statuses and proposals with clients and cross‑functional departments.
• Define system functionality and write code in languages such as Java, React, Ruby on Rails, .NET (C++ or ).
• Apply knowledge of the SDLC from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.
• Build high‑quality, innovative, and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.

• Coach and review the work of lower‑level professionals.
• Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
• Achieve day‑to‑day objectives with significant operational impact.
• Manage small projects or processes within the area of responsibility.
• Provide input or guidance to lower‑level professionals with tasks and assignments.
• Communicate with internal and external parties, including customers and vendors.
• Make moderate improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance performance.
• Use build automation tools such as Jenkins and Azure Dev Ops.
• Work within an Agile framework.
• Write automated tests for the work.
• Participate in the hiring process and interview candidates.

• Conduct impactful and meaningful code reviews.
• Experience with build automation tools (Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops).
• Knowledge of cloud services and industry‑standard frameworks.
• Adapt quickly to new tools and incorporate them effectively into applications.
• Comfortable working within an Agile framework.
• Write automated tests for code.
• Advanced knowledge of the work area.
• Work autonomously with limited supervision.
• Seasoned professional contributor.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience;
  Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
• Preference for experience with Microsoft Azure services and architecture.

Salary range: $99,080.00 – $. The position is eligible for a potential incentive.

Hybrid schedule: minimum of three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a third day set by the employee and supervisor. Employees must be available for up to five days in the office if needed. Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required and for travel between MA, CT, and NH.
