Position Overview

New York University (NYU) Berlin is seeking a part‑time lecturer to teach a course in economics called “Introduction to Germany’s Economic Geography” for the Fall 2026 semester. The course is co‑sponsored by the Stern School of Business and runs from late August to mid December on the NYU Berlin campus.

Responsibilities
  • Teach the course in English, delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and coordinating field trips to Berlin institutions.
  • Develop and update the syllabus, assignments, and assessments that align with the course goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students on projects, readings, and critical analysis tasks.
  • Engage students from diverse majors and academic backgrounds, ensuring accessibility and academic rigor.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in economics, regional science, urban studies, geography, or a closely related discipline.
  • Record of research and publications in the relevant field.
  • Minimum of three years’ teaching experience at the university level.
  • Fluency in English required;
    German work‑permit and tax number at the time of application required for the entire period of employment.
  • Preference for candidates with international teaching experience or postdoctoral training in the United States.
