Professorship – Computer Science (Data Science & Cloud Computing) – Campus (m/f/d)

We are seeking a professor for the degree program Computer Science to teach and conduct research at the IU campus in Berlin for a limited term of 2 years, starting 1 October 2026. The position is part‑time.

• Represent the field of Computer Science in teaching and research on campus and contribute to the university’s network in higher education.
• Develop and lead face‑to‑face lectures and supervise students individually during exams and thesis preparation.
• Teach practice‑oriented fundamental knowledge in Computer Science.
• Contribute to the creative development of teaching formats within IU’s didactic concept and collaborate closely with colleagues to further refine these formats.

• Completed a university degree in Computer Science or a related field with outstanding academic performance and hold a relevant doctoral degree (Ph.D.).
• At least five years of practical work experience, including three years outside university, and preferably initial experience in academic teaching.
• Demonstrated expertise in relevant subject areas through publications or projects.
• Team‑oriented, reliable, committed to in‑person teaching, and proficient in delivering virtual lectures.
• Reside permanently in Germany.
• English language skills at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Employment requirements are governed by the Higher Education Law Thüringen.
