ASSA ABLOY Americas is seeking a Project Manager to lead the administration and delivery of a portfolio of projects related to mechanical and electro‑mechanical product lines. The role is responsible for driving end‑to‑end project execution, partnering with stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with the division’s strategic roadmap for product enhancement initiatives.
The position is based at both our New Haven, CT and Berlin, CT offices and requires on‑site presence at each location on a regular weekly basis.
- Lead and manage complex mechanical and electro‑mechanical new product and product enhancement projects.
- Coordinate cross‑functional, multi‑location project teams to achieve all project tasks and milestones.
- Ensure projects follow the ASSA ABLOY LEAN New Product Development (NPD) Gateway Process.
- Create project schedules, track progress and drive teams to meet schedule milestones.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Product Management, and other teams.
- Hold frequent project pulse meetings to ensure timely communication and rapid completion of key tasks.
- Identify, resolve, and elevate key project issues to senior management.
- Communicate project analytics, status, plans and risk management strategies to senior leadership.
- Ensure designs meet product requirements and specifications.
- Extract, evaluate, and convey product costs from MRP systems.
- Document project status using MS Project, SharePoint and LEAN NPD tools.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree.
- Minimum of 2 years managing large, complex cross‑functional projects.
- 3–5 years of engineering experience.
- Strong presentation, organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with CAD modeling software.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Stage‑Gate, Waterfall or hybrid.
- Ability to navigate MRP systems (e.g., JD Edwards ERP) to extract product cost.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Willingness to travel 10–15% domestically.
- Experience facilitating FMEA, DFMA, risk analysis and design review processes.
- Electro‑/mechanical experience.
