Robotics Deployment Engineer, Robotics Deployment Packaging and Innovation

Job :  | Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH - C92

Amazon is seeking an experienced business-oriented Robotics Deployment Engineer to deliver large-scale and highly complex logistic process automation and storage initiatives for the expansion of our South Europe fulfilment network.

The Deployment Engineer will oversee all aspects of an Amazon Warehouse (Fulfilment Centre, Inbound Cross-Dock, Sortation Centre or Distribution Centre) focusing on automation technologies and storage solutions. You will evaluate and deliver state-of-the-art material handling systems and robotic innovations while coordinating internal teams and external contractors to launch new automated buildings and expand existing sites.

Amazon’s culture encourages an entrepreneurial approach and ownership to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

The role could be based in London, Barcelona, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Munich or Vercelli with ~50% travel across Europe during peak deployment season, with occasional international travel.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead evaluation and delivery of large-scale automation technologies, ensuring they are complete, standardized, and ready for global scale.
  • Support evaluation and delivery of conveyance, sortation and robotics systems across multiple sites.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art material handling systems and robotic innovations.
  • Ensure deployment deliverables are delivered on time, within the timeline, and to Amazon's quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting for complex automation deployments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with product, safety, deployment, quality and vendor teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Travel approximately 60% of the time, primarily in-country with potential requirements in the EU.
A day in the life

You will interact daily with a wide variety of functional teams and individuals across multiple time zones. You will conduct weekly meetings with internal teams, stakeholders and vendors to execute deliverables, and liaise with subject matter experts to refine and improve processes. No two days will be the same in our fast-moving environment, and you’ll have opportunities to grow as part of a tight-knit team.
