Responsibilities
- Lead JDE enhancements for implementation and support.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical designs, collaborate with JDE developers, test logic, and prepare for production in compliance with divisional standards.
- Manage requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and documentation of enhancements and modifications in line with divisional standards.
- Gather requirements, design, develop, implement and support custom JD Edwards E1 software projects including interfaces and integrations with other internal enterprise applications.
- Design flexible scalable solutions based on business requirements using optimal functional and technical designs.
- Utilize the JDE toolset including C, C2 Structured Query Language (SQL), Server Doc Path, Gentran, Smarter Commerce and Data Systems International (DSI) Data Collection middleware.
- Troubleshoot issues using various debugging methods including C business functions.
- Write complex ad hoc SQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain interfaces between JDE and various third‑party software.
- Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify requirements.
- Provide accurate development activity estimates and consistent status updates.
- Develop and nurture consensus and working relationships with all Enterprise ERP teams and other business and IT teams; foster a positive collaborative work environment.
- Assist with various implementation project phases including initiation, build, testing and deployment.
- Assist with quality assurance (QA) support for prototyping, development and user testing.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of business processes supported by the JDE solution.
- Research special topics as required as part of team or project responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Work onsite full time in New Haven, CT, with a hybrid schedule between Berlin, CT and New Haven, CT.
- Report to the ERP Technology Manager, Commercial Segment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 7–9 years of experience as a JDE techno‑functional professional with progressive growth.
- Hands‑on technical experience with the E1 Development Tool Set:
Form Design Aid, Report Design Aid, Event Rules, Data Structures, Named Event Rules, Processing Options Table, Event Rules and Triggers, Business Functions, Business Services Server (BSSV) Orchestrator, New User Defined Objects (UDO), and Debug Tools. - Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft SQL Server environment.
- Experience in custom interface development.
- Demonstrated experience with upgrades and implementations of Enterprise One 9.2 (preferred).
- Comprehensive understanding of JDE systems and applications at the architectural and technical levels.
- Effective problem analysis and resolution skills at both business and technical levels.
- Ability to present ideas in business‑friendly and user‑friendly language.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in a team‑oriented collaborative shared‑services environment across multiple divisions.
- Experience managing intellectual property creation and portfolio management.
- Some travel required initially, mostly domestic.
- Strong SQL background; SQL Server 2019.
- Experience with DSI Data Collection, Loftware labeling, Gentran EDI Software, Business Objects, Business Services Gateway, Doc Path documents printing.
- Background and understanding of infrastructure and CNC concepts.
- Knowledge of construction industry and product background.
- Background in operational processes in a manufacturing environment; functional competency in manufacturing distribution and financials.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and understanding of lean toolsets and processes.
