Position Summary- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions
- Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications and monitoring therapeutic response
- Ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting lab results as needed for ongoing treatment
- Providing education and counseling to patients on mental health, medications, and wellness
- Developing individualized treatment plans and ensuring continuity of care
- Documenting all clinical activity using the SOAP format in the EMR system
- Providing consultation and support to mental health and nursing personnel
- Performing psychiatric evaluations, mental status exams, and participating in facility rounds
- Participating in staff education, orientation, and in‑service mental health training
- Supporting crisis response efforts and guiding care interventions as clinically indicated

- Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program
- Active unrestricted APRN license in the state of practice
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification required
- Active applicable Controlled Substance Registration/License/Certification in the state of practice
- Active DEA license required
- Active CPR certification required
- Experience in psychiatric diagnosis and medication management (correctional experience preferred)
- Strong clinical judgement, emotional resilience, and a patient‑focused mindset
