Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions
• Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications and monitoring therapeutic response
• Ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting lab results as needed for ongoing treatment
• Providing education and counseling to patients on mental health, medications, and wellness
• Developing individualized treatment plans and ensuring continuity of care
• Documenting all clinical activity using the SOAP format in the EMR system
• Providing consultation and support to mental health and nursing personnel
• Performing psychiatric evaluations, mental status exams, and participating in facility rounds
• Participating in staff education, orientation, and in‑service mental health training
• Supporting crisis response efforts and guiding care interventions as clinically indicated

• Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program
• Active unrestricted APRN license in the state of practice
• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification required
• Active applicable Controlled Substance Registration/License/Certification in the state of practice
• Active DEA license required
• Active CPR certification required
• Experience in psychiatric diagnosis and medication management (correctional experience preferred)
• Strong clinical judgement, emotional resilience, and a patient‑focused mindset
