Position: Business Development Manager in hyper-scale startup (m/w/d)

Vicoland gives the professional services market a new dimension:
Virtual Companies - “Vicos”. We invented Vicos as a new type of supplier, more efficient than traditional professional services firms (consultancies, system integrators, agencies etc.). On our AI-driven SaaS platform, freelance experts team up to form Vicos. AI agents integrate into these teams. The Vicos then act like real companies, competing successfully for large enterprise projects.

Already, 100+ Vicos with thousands of freelancers work on projects for enterprise clients like BASF, Miele, Siemens or Zeiss and many SMEs. They also serve leading professional services firms as subcontractors, including Accenture, Infosys and Roland Berger. Forbes and Forrester have named Vicoland as a leading force transforming the market.

Our platform provides the full digital infrastructure for forming and operating Vicos: marketing, finance, legal, organization - increasingly enhanced by AI agents as productive Vico members. An important focus of our growth lies in SAP services, ranging from S/4

HANA transformations to highly specific SAP application modules.

We are scaling our go‑to‑market and need a leader who sells by shaping how enterprise clients and partners think about sourcing SAP expertise in the agentic era.

Our offer to you

As a Business Development Manager, you combine a hands‑on mindset with an interest in the SAP ecosystem and a growing understanding of how AI supports service delivery.

You work closely with clients to understand their needs and help them explore new ways of sourcing and delivering IT projects. With support from the team, you contribute to positioning the Vico model and demonstrate its advantages in relevant client scenarios.

In your role, you support the full business development cycle – from initial client conversations and pitches to coordinating with delivery teams and contributing to long–term account development. You collaborate with experienced colleagues and Vicos, gradually taking on more responsibility in managing client relationships and project success.

Tasks

Shape the market

  • Support positioning Vicoland as an alternative to traditional consulting models – with enterprise clients and subcontracting partners.
  • Contribute to go‑to‑market activities and help tailor messaging to specific client situations.
  • Own and execute key marketing activities, including website content, Linked In presence, and targeted outreach campaigns (e.g. cold email), to drive visibility and demand.

Win and grow clients

  • Participate in client conversations and help translate the Vico model into tangible client value.
  • Identify cross‑ and upsell opportunities together with the team.
  • Maintain and update CRM data (e.g. pipeline, activities, client information) to ensure transparency and data quality.

Support Vicos in delivery

  • Collaborate with Vico Leads to support smooth delivery and positive client outcomes.
  • Help onboard new Vico Leads and support them during setup.
  • Assist in writing and maintaining Vico profiles and positioning materials.

Build and manage Vicos

  • Support the sourcing of suitable experts for Vicos.
  • Screen and interview candidates to assess fit for Vico roles and client needs.
  • Coordinate with experts and Vico Leads during the staffing process.

Use AI in Business Development

  • Apply AI tools in daily work (e.g. research, outreach, content creation).
  • Support the use of Vicoland’s AI capabilities in client‑related activities.

Contribute to the company

  • Share feedback from client interactions and recruiting activities.
  • Support improvements of internal processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • Work closely with the team to support business growth.
Requirements
  • min. 2 years of experience in business development, consulting, sales, or a related role
  • Experience in client‑facing roles, with the ability to support consultative conversations and understand client needs
  • Interest in the SAP ecosystem or enterprise software landscape (prior SAP experience is beneficial but not required)
  • Curiosity for new technologies, especially AI, and willingness to use AI tools in daily work
  • Structured and proactive working style, with a hands‑on mindset
