The Role & Team

Every day, millions of users buy and sell using eBay. Our Connected Products team looks after some of the critical products that help establish eBay as the most trusted destination for branded and preloved fashion. We are a multidisciplinary team operating in a fast paced environment. We are seeking a Head of Business Operations to lead the core functions of the Connected Products organization. This role involves turning strategy into action, coordinating cross-functional groups, and supporting strong business results. You will manage the team’s operational rhythm, link strategic plans to daily tasks, and help leaders and teams gain clarity, focus, and support in decision‑making for growth and efficiency.

What

you will accomplish
  • Facilitate and guide the team’s ongoing operational schedule: goals and key targets, quarterly business evaluations, monthly executive meetings, and cross‑functional sessions that ensure priorities remain clear and participants stay informed. With decisions noted, activities tracked, and commitments fulfilled.
  • Manage execution governance by defining performance targets and success measures. Develop and maintain scorecards. Record issues, risks, and decisions in logs. Monitor key indicators to evaluate progress and initiative success. Support teams by enabling prompt trade‑off choices and decisions.
  • Strategic execution: help translate high‑level strategies into actionable plans with functional leaders and ensure those plans are implemented effectively across different teams.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: ensure individuals across the team’s Strategy, Business Development, Account Management, Marketing, Operations, Product, Tech, Build, and Finance functions are aligned and that ways of working are effective.
  • Change management: lead the leadership group and entire organisation through transitions. Ensure teams have defined goals, clear processes, and support systems to advance their work streams in a changing environment.
  • Executive communications: lead agenda setting for leadership meetings, offsites, and executive updates. Prepare materials and support with the narrative and storytelling.
  • Lead special projects: take on ad hoc initiatives around growth, efficiency, customer experience. Working to identify trends, uncover root causes of problems, and make informed recommendations.
What you will bring
  • 8–12+ years in program management/operations within fashion/e‑commerce/marketplace contexts; management consulting a plus.
  • Proven operational excellence and strategy‑to‑execution leadership: build and management of operating cadences, setting and monitoring of important metrics, translation of strategic intent into clear plans and measurable outcomes, alignment of roadmaps, implementation of operating plans, and consolidation into an overarching unified view.
  • Strong collaboration management: experience building trust within teams and with partners, and influencing individuals across the organization.
  • Outstanding communication and facilitation skills: executive‑ready synthesis, crisp narratives, and meeting build that converts discussion into decision and action.
  • High ownership and program leadership: structured planning, risk/issue management, accountability for results, and a mentality of continuous improvement.
