Summary
Ridge High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator for a temporary leave replacement position in the Social Studies department from November 30, 2026, to March 1, 2027. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social studies education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role requires the ability to engage students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles while promoting critical thinking and civic awareness.
Responsibilities- - Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and engage students in the study of history, geography, economics, and civics.
- - Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback.
- - Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- - Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- - Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- - Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
- - Collaborate with other educators to enhance interdisciplinary learning and support school initiatives.
- - Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a positive school culture.
- - Valid teaching certification in Social Studies or equivalent licensure.
- - Previous teaching experience at the high school level is preferred.
- - Strong knowledge of social studies content and pedagogy.
- - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- - Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- - Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- - Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
- - Availability to work from November 30, 2026, to March 1, 2027.
