Job Description
Relationship Banker I is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and over the phone, contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The role focuses on building meaningful personal connections while processing transactions, identifying ways to meet customer needs, and resolving end‑to‑end inquiries. Ideal candidates have teller, banking, or retail sales experience and are eager to grow within the organization.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide a consistent optimal customer experience on the cash line while handling deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other typical teller transactions.
- Answer inquiries regarding products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests such as new/replacement cards, PIN reset, reordering checks, and basic problem resolution.
- Develop relationships with customers and remain informed about their bank relationship.
- Educate customers on standard consumer products and digital solutions such as mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
- Assist branch and team members with basic tasks to aid in customer problem resolution.
- Refer customers to internal experts when more complex financial goals and needs are recognized.
- Follow all bank processes and procedures, complying with applicable laws and regulations, and assist the Branch Manager with sound banking practices and risk management.
- Achieve branch targets by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance about Regions’ solutions.
- Conduct outbound phone calls using generated lead lists to educate customers on emerging technology and meet their financial needs.
This position requires tracking of time for hours worked in excess of 40 per week and is eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The position is incentive eligible.
Requirements- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
- Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and electronically.
- Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained monitor attention.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- One year of banking, cash‑handling, and/or customer service experience.
- Adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assistance with digital banking offerings.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
- Strong customer focus and relationship‑building skills.

Compensation DetailsPay ranges are job‑specific and are provided as market reference for compensation decisions. Factors that impact pay include experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and performance.
Job Range Target- Minimum: $39,601.10 USD
- Median: $46,880.00 USD
Eligible to participate in a formulaic incentive plan. Employees can earn incentives based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
