The Love Does Coordinator Assistant supports and grows Grace Klein Community’s Love Does initiative, mobilizing individuals, churches, businesses, and schools to tangibly demonstrate the love of Christ in the community through “Love Does.” The role creates accessible opportunities for people to live out the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37–39) by loving God fully and loving their neighbors intentionally through acts of service.
The position supports project coordination, volunteer engagement, partnership development, logistics management, and data tracking related to Love Does outreach efforts, including the Wedding Flower Rescue initiative.
Primary Responsibilities (including but not limited to) Love Does Initiative- Plan, coordinate, and execute Love Does outreach opportunities (e.g., blessing single mothers, hospital patients, teachers, first responders, etc.).
- Maintain and manage Love Does volunteer sign-ups (Signup Genius).
- Ensure GKC provides necessary supplies (flowers, food, treats, stickers, ribbon, etc.) for volunteers to create Love Does and deliver.
- Equip volunteers to write Scripture cards either from home or at a GKC location, providing index cards, markers, stickers, and other needed supplies. Coordinate the distribution of Scripture cards to be included with Love Does outreach distributions.
- Create simple, clear pathways for individuals and groups to participate.
- Communicate regularly with participants before and after service opportunities.
- Capture stories, testimonials, and impact data for marketing and donor engagement.
- Evaluate and improve Love Does processes for scalability and sustainability.
- Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers to actively participate in Love Does initiatives.
- Provide orientation and clear process education when needed.
- Increase the number of willing, able, and ready volunteers, including managing and growing the Whats App groups.
- Empower volunteers to take ownership of projects while maintaining excellence and mission alignment.
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, schools, police and fire departments, and other community partners.
- Collaborate with churches, schools, and businesses to expand Love Does engagement.
- Identify new outreach opportunities aligned with GKC’s mission.
Program Coordination
- Communicate with wedding planners, florists, brides, and wedding parties regarding flower donation opportunities.
- Coordinate and schedule flower rescues following weddings and events.
- Engage volunteers to perform rescues and educate them on processes and expectations as needed.
- Personally perform flower rescues periodically to understand and streamline processes.
- Grow the rescue initiative by reaching out to additional wedding planners, florists, and event planners.
- Consider and potentially develop a shared platform where wedding florists or planners can post upcoming events, and individuals or organizations in need of flowers can claim arrangements for next-day use.
- Secure additional donations of glass vases, black flower buckets, flower scissors, and other flower rescue and arrangement supplies.
- Develop systems to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Track the estimated price/value of arrangements rescued.
- Track the number of volunteer hours.
- Track the number of rescues completed.
- Maintain organized records for reporting, donor communication, and impact measurement.
