Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Bessemer, Alabama

Northgate Health & Rehab is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Wound Care Nurse. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about wound management, skin integrity, clinical excellence, and improving patient outcomes in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.

Wound Care RN Responsibilities
  • Assess, monitor, and manage resident wounds and skin conditions
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized wound treatment plans
  • Perform wound measurements, evaluations, and documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Monitor wound healing progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and wound care protocols
  • Educate nursing staff on wound prevention, skin integrity, and treatment best practices
  • Participate in clinical meetings, care plan conferences, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist with pressure injury prevention programs and skin rounds
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Qualifications
  • Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Wound Care Certification preferred but not required
  • Previous wound care, treatment nurse, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute experience preferred
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of pressure injury prevention, wound management, and infection control practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
