Our client, a leader in the logistics and transportation industry, is seeking a dedicated Logistics Specialist to join their dynamic team. As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the logistics operations, ensuring smooth order processing, routing, dispatching, and traffic coordination. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and a commitment to excellence, aligning seamlessly with the company's mission to deliver exceptional service and operational efficiency.

Location:

Bessemer, AL

Pay Range: $20.50 to $21.75 per hour

Shifts Available:
Day shift: 5 AM to 2:30 PM, Thursday to Monday;
Second shift: 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Thursday to Monday

• Maintain customer profile information and accurately enter loads from customer tenders into the Freight Optimizer system.
• Update account managers on problem loads and communicate actions taken; keep receivers and customers informed about load statuses.
• Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries to verify timely arrivals and good condition of loads.
• Take check calls from drivers, ensuring loads will deliver on time; validate all load data prior to marking loads as delivered for accounting purposes.
• Investigate product overages, shortages, damages, and complete the necessary documentation.

• At least 1 year of logistics experience.
• General knowledge of the transportation industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.
