Warehouse Conveyable Loader until Finish

Job Overview

The Conveyable Loader position involves loading cases onto a pallet, removing cases from conveyors, and palletizing them to load onto trucks. The loader must move at a fast pace, read labels, identify routes, and handle cases without breaking them. Standard productivity goals are expected daily, and all materials are handled following company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure workplace.

Bessemer, AL 35022

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Six months of experience in a similar position strongly preferred.
• Experience operating an electric pallet jack, forklift, and other power equipment preferred.

• Accurately read route numbers and truck numbers to ensure the correct truck is being loaded.
• Use the Company’s Warehouse Management System to ensure all cases are accounted for on the manifest.
• Ensure all loads are properly stacked, secured, and stable.
• Identify damages and safely clean up spills.
• Operate a hand truck and a motorized electric pallet jack.
• Safely operate the conveyor line and properly shut it down in case of emergency.
• Keep appropriate records to guarantee inventory control, rotation of stock, and security are maintained.
• Assist with physical inventories as required.
• Assist in other doors or areas when necessary or assigned.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Report in writing any safety or mechanical problems with power equipment.
• Conduct operations and maintain the facility in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the Warehouse.

Work environment is non-temperature controlled, with exposure to heat, high humidity, and inclement weather. Occasional work in refrigerated areas is required. The workplace includes moderate to loud noise levels and some dust and fumes from power equipment.

• Regular, reliable attendance required.
• Frequent operation of a pallet jack and/or forklift if assigned.
• Stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, lift and carry, use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
• Perform greater than average lifting (50-65 lbs) with some overhead lifting required.
• Specific vision abilities including close, distance vision and ability to judge distance.
