Bethany Children's Health Center - Bethany, OK 73008, Job Shift: Direct Patient Care, As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you are responsible for providing direct patient care to a wide variety of inpatients at the hospital, supervision of advanced practice providers (APRNs/PAs), education of PGY-3 pediatric residents, and participating in organizational citizenship within the hospital. All Hospitalists perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and core values of excellence, integrity, compassion, service and stewardship.

• Provision of direct care to the wide variety of inpatients at Bethany Children’s Health Center
  • Direct involvement in reviewing and evaluating patient referrals
  • Admissions
  • Daily care (acute and chronic care)
• Call responsibilities 60%
  • Supervision of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs)
  • Co-management of patients in Complex Care (CC)
  • Education
  • Consultative services in Pediatric Medical Rehab Unit (PMRU)
• Education of PGY-3 pediatric residents 20%
  • Direct supervision of clinical activities
  • One‑on‑one teaching
  • Career mentoring
• Organizational citizenship 10%
  • Participate in at least one hospital‑based committee
  • Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) endeavors
  • Actively participate in Medical Staff activities
• Educational offerings for staff 5%
• Other duties as assigned 5%

• Education:
  • Completion of an ACGME‑accredited residency training program in pediatrics. Completion of a pediatric hospitalist fellowship is preferred, but not required.
• Experience:
  • 2 years of post‑graduate pediatric hospital medicine experience preferred but not required.
• License/Certification/Credential:
  • M.D. or D.O. or board eligible or board certified (preferred) in pediatrics or pediatric hospital medicine.

Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA), a safety sensitive position is defined as any job that includes tasks or duties that the employer believes could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others. This statute allows Bethany Children’s Health Center to refuse to hire an applicant or discharge an employee in a safety‑sensitive position, who tests positive for marijuana even if the applicant or employee holds a valid Oklahoma medical marijuana license.
