As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist, you will administer a variety of therapeutic services and diagnostic tests to evaluate and care for our patients with respiratory insufficiencies and complexities. You will consult with the physician and provides instruction and medical direction to nursing and other staff members related to patient care and equipment necessary for respiratory care. All Bethany Children's Health Center Respiratory Therapists perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and core values of excellence, integrity, compassion, service and stewardship.
Responsibilities- Performs all aspects of direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory
- Determines effectiveness of the therapy and works with interdisciplinary team members to develop the best care plan for the patient
- Communicates effectively to all interdisciplinary team members
- Advocates for the patient's respiratory related needs to the healthcare provider
- Acts as a student/new hire preceptor as directed
- Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care
- School Clinical experience required
- 1+ year of pediatric healthcare experience preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required or Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care, with the understanding that you will pursue and obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials within 1 year of employment.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
- CPR Certification may be obtained upon hire
- PALS Certification may be obtained upon hire
- We offer 12-hour shifts (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)
- Full Time: 3 (12-hour) Shifts Weekly; rotating weekend requirement
- Part Time: 2 (12-hour) Shifts Weekly; rotating weekend requirement
- Clinical Development Program (CDP)
- Hospital-paid Oklahoma RCP licensure expenses reimbursed after one year of employment
- A rotating two week set schedule
