DescriptionThe Benefits and Leave Specialist acts as a subject matter expert for all aspects of employee benefits programs and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all benefit plans, monthly auditing, ACA compliance, open enrollment, 401k administration, and other benefit related tasks. This position will act as the primary liaison between the employees, management, and benefit vendors and must remain knowledgeable and stay current of principles, practices, and procedures in benefits administration including 401 (k) and non-qualified plans and laws related to: ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, etc.
The Benefits and Leave Specialist will support employees managing all leave requests in a timely and compassionate way while abiding by all government laws and policies. This position will accurately assist employees through the various needs for leave – Short/Long-Term Disability, FMLA, ADA requests, Maternity, General Medical. The Benefits and Leave Specialist will support our HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations in performing general HR duties to support the organization and function of the HR team.

Handle all day-to-day benefit administration and processing for the organization including:
- Act as the point of contact for employees to assist in enrollments, including determining eligibility, notification, and assisting with HRIS access and utilization
- Processing employee changes including changes of status, qualifying life events, and terminations
- Coordinate and ensure all benefit communications are intentional, timely, and accurate
- Process all COBRA initiations, enrollments, and reconciliations
- Coordinate the annual open enrollment process by updating enrollment material, rate tables, ensuring HRIS system set up accuracy, hosting open enrollment sessions for all shifts, and answering employee questions. Following up with employees throughout the enrollment period to ensure all eligible employees complete the process.
Coordinate and process all employee leave requests ensuring all applicable leave options are provided and guiding employees through the process with accuracy and compassion. Administer ADA requests, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, General Medical Leave, Maternity Leave, Worker's Compensation, and FMLA in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. Proactively reaching out to leaders and employees to ensure options are understood and working together to ensure employees are able to return to the workspace in a safe and timely manner.
Complete all required billing and funding for benefit plans on a reoccurring basis ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Administer the 401(k) plan including eligible employee enrollment, loans, hardships, disbursements, and the annual audit.
Maintains relationships with benefit brokers and vendors and evaluates opportunities for cost-savings while ensuring maximum coverage at the least possible cost and risk to the company and employees.

QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in HR Benefits & managing employee leave required Experience with self-funded plans preferred Paycom experience strongly preferred
License/Certification/Credential: SHRM or PHR certification preferred
